How do you decide which rely travel content? -

Ink pen and journal for writing Every so often, a debate bubbles in the trip to discuss the ethics of taking sponsored trips or posting content sponsored blogging world or links (ie, content or ads that someone paid you for). The debate goes up, the opposing sides argue about why they are right, and the debate fades, never really resolved.

Recently that debate reappeared, and while I usually never know blog on this about blogging site, I break my principle, because I want you, the regular readers, think of all .

What makes someone outside the travel industry think? As the regular readers are trying to do, we feel on this issue to help?

I do not typically read other travel blogs. I read a few regular (I'll list my current favorite blogs write short), but for the most part, I avoid most of them. I feel the content is all the same: they read like daily magazines, they do not have much deeper, practical information, and everything is always sunshine and rainbows. I never get a sense of place or a sense of the stories.

Once in a while, I will talk about something that really catches my eye, but lately I have shunned a kind travel blogs, especially as this note appears too often on them. "Thanks for the travel, tourism Destination X Board ".

When I see that I will be much less interested in the blog

Do you not t get me wrong: I do not think something is inherently bad take on a press trip, ie if an object, a journalist or group of journalists invites free to visit. I personally do not like them just because I like cattle herded hate to see things I have written about no interest. I like my independence. Press trips are not my thing, but I do not, to be invited to visit a place by means an object that your mind to buy.

But I think the scope and extent irrelevant and perception reality. When I read a blog where each trip by a Tourism Board, PR firm or tour operator is sponsored, I begin with this disclaimer asking.

If you develop personal relationships with the people in the tourist offices or PR firms are to make you go really negative comments if you know it, your friendship turns sour? Or will gloss over the situation? We are all human, and our natural tendency is to help our friends.

So I start just wonder how many of these ideas are really alone.

And as assignable's your experience? Having been in the past to paid travel, I know my experience on this trip not experience have a regular consumer. I get special treatment, seven-star meals, direct access to a manager, if something goes wrong, and wine and food in my room. Pampers will definitely love a place much more would make.

because yes, only many bloggers not to travel were free but were also a daily rate paid to be there.

has to see a waiver to make the information less trust? Does it look all the time making the site unrelatable, less trustworthy, etc.?

Is it a diversion?

PS This is not a personal attack on anyone specific. If you're a blogger and take trips, I am not telling you to stop. I write to ask this post as non-bloggers feel about the subject.
