15 Reasons Why fly United Airlines sucks

15 Reasons Why fly United Airlines sucks -

United Airlines airplane tail with logo on it When I decided to move to Sweden, I changed airlines. Normally, I am a loyal American Airlines travelers and a member of the Oneworld alliance. I like American Airlines and its oneworld partners (except Finnair - that airline sucks!). However, the main airline in Sweden, SAS, part of the Star Alliance network. Not wanting my Elite Aviator losing benefits, this year I moved to United Airlines (the main US Star Alliance member) to earn elite status. So when I flew SAS, I could obtain access to the lounge and possible upgrades.

I had never flown with United before its merger with Continental. I can not really say how it compares their service, what it should be, but after 15 flights with them this year, I can say that their current service is absolute shit. I mean, it is so terrible that I would rather walk than would fly United. As soon as I get back to America, I plan to return to American Airlines switching, especially since they decided to combine only the rest of the world and to update their aircraft. I long for American every time I sit on a plane bulk. And the thought United to fly for the months of the year to reach the top-tier service, makes me depressed. (After I hit top tier, I'll get a status game of American, so I can on their network to be top tier.)

Let me count the reasons why I think you should never United fly Airlines when the choice:

  1. you lose children
  2. contact service dog
  3. to cancel Guitar
  4. United is so bad, pilots ... even say they are a Continental crew. It is their not-so-subtle way to tell you they are not part of this chaos.
  5. not United responds to customer service requests on Twitter.
  6. If you call for service, you do a guy in India receive who has no idea what you're talking about. Well, I'm a product of the global age, and I do not care where a call center is. Hell, the Mars rovers could to answer my customer service request. Does not matter. What interests me is that the customer service representatives speak my language and know what I am talking about. It took 20 minutes for the rep to find out I wanted a round-the-world ticket, not a return trip. Then, to say to me, that was not his department, he moved me to someone who had no idea why I called and passed me also to another department. And another time, when I called for help, the representatives depended only on me.
  7. Their planes are old and ugly. You keep talking about upgrades, but at least Americans have a date for the arrival of their new aircraft. United not.
  8. you have the worst status on time from all major airlines.
  9. You lose most pockets.
  10. your on-board meals are a joke. I understand that business meals are never good, but when I pay $ 10 USD for something, I want it to be easy, at least edible. Your snack boxes are not. At least I can get a sandwich on other airlines. The bad (and free) cheese sandwich I got from Croatia Airlines, was better than what you fed at United.
  11. There are no upgrades, even if you have money. On my flight to Sweden, business class only three people had it. I asked if there were any Elite upgrades and when they said no, I asked if I could purchase an upgrade to hear from the man ask me and get a positive response. I was told: "No, not enough room." The aircraft flew with a half-empty first class and a mostly empty business class. Way to promote customer loyalty among your elite aviators, United!
  12. sucking their in-flight service, and the flight attendants are pretty upset. (My guess? It is a manifestation of the crappy corporate culture after the merger.)
  13. Did I mention their planes are old and outdated?
  14. you do not have Wi-Fi.
  15. their flights cost more than their competitors ... but with crappier service!

words the distaste I can not express have for United. You make my blood boil. US Airways used to be my most hated airline in the United States, but now I think United is much worse. At least US Airways is cheap! This video summarizes out everything I would say United:

Not a day that goes by that I do not hear people complain about United. The news is littered with reports of their customer service problems, and frequent flyer actively try to avoid United. If American Airlines tried offered the elite status of most of United's frequent flyer earlier to fit this year, so many people to change that American early stopped the offer.

One of the reasons why I love the Star Alliance that there is a large airline network with far more members than Oneworld, including Air New Zealand, ANA and Singapore Airlines - all top-class airlines. But if a member of the Star Alliance means to be that I fly United, when I travel around America ... no thanks. I'll pass

If you are looking for an airline, someone please save United select

Update : .. Here is the story of when my United flight had to make an emergency landing is, if we lost cabin pressure and fell 20,000 feet.
