Ten Reasons to Visit Australia
Australia is one of the most isolated countries in the world, and, ironically, one of the most popular places to visit, especially for backpackers and budget travelers. Because of its distance from the United States, not many Americans tend to visit Australia. The flights are long and expensive, and if you waste just a few weeks after the trip a few days probably fly does not make sense to make a lot of travelers. Nevertheless, here are a few reasons to save your holiday period and brave that long venture across the Pacific:
The Great Barrier Reef
One of the most reef systems in the world, the Great Barrier Reef is world famous for its abundance of sea life and world-class diving. When I was there, I saw turtles, sharks, living coral, beautiful fish and even a fish pooping (which served as odd as it sounds). It was everything it was cracked up to be. You can spend this reef a day or a couple of diving. Although everyone leaves of Cairns, departing from Port Douglas you will get less crowded at dive sites.
Sydney
Known for its famous Opera House and Harbour, Sydney also offers an incredible bridge, large parks, good food, lots of free stuff, and amazing surfing to do. Whether you go to Manly Beach or any in Bondi slopes, Sydney is a place to relax in the sun and enjoy the water. Darling Harbour has a number of good restaurants and good entrainment venues and the Chinese garden is very relaxing. For a night on the town with colorful locals, there is nothing like Kings Cross.
Uluru
You would not think that a huge circular rock cover eight kilometers land would be stunning, but it is. The blown-sections in the rock it like a wave, sandy climb to look over the desert. The iron in the rock produces amazing shades of red and orange at sunrise and sunset. While you can climb Uluru, be warned that there is for the people in this area a sacred area. Oddly enough, they allow visitors to scale the rock, but they do not like. You can take near Alice Springs tours here.
Grill
Aussies to make a lot of things well, and one of the best barbecue throws. The Aussie BBQ is a serious tradition, and most parks and public areas have at least three barbecue pits. In fact, I do not know what Australia without grill would. There is nothing better than a nice warm night, a few good beers and some grilled kangaroo-up you make this place love.
wine
Australia has some great wine regions, Margaret River near Perth, the Barossa Valley near Adelaide, and the Hunter Valley heard near Sydney. There are a lot of good wine to be tried while shiraz in Australia, mainly Australians and Pinot noir. You can take day trips to any of the wine regions take from the nearby big cities or just take a trip to the wine shop and get drunk in the park ... while a BBQ with.
Western Australia
This is my favorite part of Australia. It's really beautiful, with its large expanses of the Outback and white sandy beaches that stretch for miles without a soul in sight. I'm glad a lot of people, not to visit Western Australia; otherwise it might as filled the East Coast and exit overbuilt. Karijini National Park is Kakadu and Litchfield to shame and Coral Bay and Ningaloo Reef are even better than Cairns and Great Barrier Reef. I love it here.
Perth
Sydney and Melbourne get all the attention, but Perth can hold against these two heavyweights. There are beautiful beaches, one of the largest city parks in the world, surfing, and nearby Fremantle, where you can have Australia's best beer (Little Creatures). Perth is a city filled with young people and has the atmosphere of a city on the move, which comes into its own just. Do not forget, Sunday drinking session at the famous Cottesloe Hotel.
have Surfing
Australia did not invent surfing, but you might as well have, given how deep it rooted in the Australian culture. The best surfing is on the east coast, and there are a million places where you can catch a good wave. You can go to Sydney and places like Bondi Beach, but I find the best surfing in Queensland is. Personally, I think Noosa one of the best places to surf, because there are waves for both professionals and beginners.
Beautiful beaches
With more than 50,000 km from coast there is no way, could exist without this land of beautiful beaches. Those who are on the east coast is far more to do than the secluded beaches on the coast of Western Australia. But with so much coastline, you will always find a place to relax by yourself. My favorites are Coral Bay, Cable Beach, Noosa, Manly, and every beach in Perth.
Lush Jungles
One day I'm going to settle down, and when I do, it'll be in some tropical location. Perhaps Queensland that his place. Find one of the oldest continuous tropical rainforest in the world to find (it dates back to the age of dinosaurs!). There are hiking the great places, tons of wildlife and birds (look for crocodiles, though), and some really beautiful rivers and waterholes cool in. If you really want to get away from it all, head to the north to Cape Tribulation where it's just you, the jungle, and some sea.
Australia has just to offer much more than these 10 things. I could (not Vegemite one of them!) Probably 365 reasons to visit Australia. But we get for some reason drawn to countries, and these are what retire, again in the wonderful land downunder.
