Boston is one of the most visited cities in America, and people from all over the world flock here in the summer months.

chances are Boston on your list, and to see, as you know, large cities can be tough on your wallet. Boston has a lot to do, meals expensive, and hotels are not cheap. But I grew up in this city, and although it is no longer my home, I know, it's like the back of my hand. There is a lot in Boston to do, and a lot of it is free

Here are ten activities that you charge to do in Boston that you give the local experience .:

Walk the Freedom Trail

covering 16 historical sites and stretching 2.5 miles, this red-brick trail you will learn everything you need to know about Boston history , All sites on the way are free, and you can even upload an audio podcast to accompany walking, or you can by one of Boston's many historical figures.

Everyone should eat at least once in Quincy Market. Grab your meal at one of the many restaurants pass the head outside the people seen in the colonnade, and enjoy a show street performers. I love an afternoon here people watching. There are also some good restaurants here when table service is more your style.

On a beautiful summer day, Boston Common is filled with locals looking to enjoy the beautiful weather. Lie down, read a book, play some sports, or just relax. Stroll to the public gardens, or sit Frog Pond. It's a great opportunity to visit the city without spending a dime.

Catch a concert at the Hatch Shell

Boston Charles River Parkway provides the backdrop enjoy free concerts in the summer. Relax on the Charles River as an artist exhibitions at the Hatch Shell play. It is here you can see the famous Boston Pops seen on July 4 play. When the show is over, rent a sailboat and cruise around the river, or just sit around and catch some sun! Sometimes the Hatch Shell even plays movies at night.

Head to Castle Iceland

Castle Iceland is located in South Boston and is famous for its fortress on to it. It stretches to the port and has excellent beaches and running routes, which are popular with the locals. There is a picnic area here, and you can explore the old fortress for free. The place is pretty busy on the weekends in the summer, and you can often school groups visiting the Fortress in spring.

Take a tour of Harvard

Established in 1636, Harvard is the oldest university in America. Head to join his home in Cambridge (Harvard Square Red Line train stop) and a free tour. Find out more about the university's history, architecture, programs and myths. When you're done, wander around the eclectic offer of Harvard Square. There are a lot of good buskers here. OK, so this is not free. After all the sightseeing, you probably worked a thirst for improvement. Go to the Bar in Allston and Brighton by post-college crowd to drink. The area is filled with young professionals and offers some of the best beers in town. Places such Wonderbar, The White Horse, The Kells, the design and Joshua Tree are always full.

Free Beer Tours

Sam Adams, a large Boston brewery offers free tours. They occur midafternoon and run every 45 minutes. You get a couple of free samples along the way, too. If you are not over 21, do not worry-you can even go, you can not just drink.

Visit the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain and it's beautiful leaves
over 260 acres of free public space is from sunrise to sunset here open. There are walkways, gardens, open lawns, and tons of flowers from around the world. Relax under the plant and a step back from the fast pace of the city. This place is much quieter than the Public Gardens and offers a bit more variety in plants. They also have a large collection of bonsai tree.

Boston can be an expensive city, but there are still a lot of things to do for free!
