This was my third time on the island, and when I was there, I was reminded of how much I do not like it. I hate Ko Phi Phi. It is one of the most overrated islands in Thailand. I spent the last four days there with some friends of mine from Bangkok. Originally we wanted to go near Krabi, but if it was too quiet for them, we moved to Ko Phi Phi.

Since it looks like a lot of young travelers, the alcohol and music flows continuously, even during the low season. But the people of the beauty of the island swear and I do not know why.

For a start, it's much too expensive. You pay twice as much as you would anywhere else in Thailand. During the low season, a beach bungalow 800 baht, twice as much as I paid is high season on Koh Phangan. A bucket of liquor (the epitome Thailand drink) is 400 baht, twice as high as in Bangkok and a little more than twice as high as in most other islands. A cheap Thai food is around 100 baht, three times the price of Bangkok.

Then there are the beaches and the water. This is where Ko Phi Phi to shine. But it does not work. From a distance, see the blue water and white sand beaches like paradise. But if you look closely, you realize that appearance is deceptive. One of the beaches is used by all boats, so it's a no go. It is the most important in the opposite bay to go a lot of people, but when the tide goes out, everything is left is dead coral, boats and ankle-deep water. That would not be bad if it was not done during the day! This leaves the most popular beach, Long Beach, to the city in 15 minutes walk. There you will find lots of people vying for the decent line of beach.

But unless you are in the private resorts at the northern end of the island, the bulk of the long-tail boat: You can not start a thing that really kills this island are stored. Ko Phi Phi, like many Thai islands, suffers from mass sprawl. It is simply too small to handle all the people brought to him. I can not figure out why anyone would consider this paradise into consideration if there are hundreds of unused and untouched islands in Thailand. Good marketing, beautiful pictures, and a reputation for a good party holds Ko Phi Phi alive, but if you want beautiful and unspoilt tropical islands, Ko Phi Phi is not the place for you.
