Guide fear: When your friends you plan their trip

Guide fear: When your friends you plan their trip -

Friends getting lost while planning a trip I travel alone most of the time, because if I waited to travel with my friends, I would never go anywhere. I can not count how many broken travel plans I made with my friends. From the city meetups until two week holiday to hiking adventures across Europe, always seems to "come." To some When it comes to the wire, my friends rarely come through.

Once in a blue moon, they do it. My friend Joe kicked me in Belize, Kristin came to Amsterdam, Mike and Dustin came to Chicago, and Danielle backpacked Costa Rica with me.

I really enjoy with my friends on the go because it's my chance to share my love travel with them. I especially love when they visit one of my favorite destinations in the world. I feel like I will show you a special part of my am life that does not get to see everyone. I'll show them my favorite restaurants, they have amazing food try hopefully to fall frequent my local meeting places and with the aim of as much as I do.

Today, three of my friends come to Thailand for the holidays. I met Jesse and Joel in 09 during La Tomatina, and we have since remained close friends. (I spent Thanksgiving with them last year.) Jesse's girlfriend, Michelle, will join us. It will be the first time in Asia. There is also Michelle is restarted from America. Amazing is not it? I imagine this will be an experience for all of them, especially Michelle. The chaotic streets of Bangkok are nothing like Portland, Oregon.

So I enthusiastically for their visit'm, I'm extremely nervous.

you have the whole trip to me. Every detail of every day. While I am excited (you know how much I love you Thailand), I am also worried. What if I screw up? Your experience depends entirely on my ability to plan a great trip and organize. I am responsible for her happiness.

I know Thailand. I've lived here, explored most of the country, and come here every year. I know what they need to see and do, but what if it's not perfect? Sure, we discussed the trip and what they want, but there is still this burden on my shoulders.

While I have planned city tours and so for friends, I've never been responsible for an entire visit before. No one has ever thrown me the keys and said, ". You have to drive all the way"

Sometimes I leaders of being dreamed a tour. It must be so much fun, I think. To share your passion with someone else in the hope they so excited and tense on how you are. I have visions of leading the excited groups of people through historic cities in Europe, tells the story, and to introduce them to great food. I would be lying if I said it was not an overly romantic image.

Well, I'm leading a 25-day private tour. I have the logistics to organize, take care of the property, arrange hotels, and plan your route. It's nerve-racking, but I have to do with the anxiety is through thorough, booking everything in advance, and soothe the nerves with a couple of beers.

If all goes well, then maybe tour guides play something I'll do again in the future.

If not, I think I'll stay to give only Budgetberatung who drink beer, and let my friends their own travel plan in the future.
