Sailing in Croatia with Busabout

Sailing in Croatia with Busabout -

jumping off the busabout boat in croatia For years, I have heard about the tour company Busabout. They offer hop-on, hop-off bus tours again in Europe, similar to the Kiwi and Oz Experience. Basically, they have set routes through Europe and along this route, you can leave the bus and back together, if you want. I've never used, as I have always just taken in Europe trains. (Although I have nothing against this way of traveling - I loved my time on the Kiwi Experience)

In addition to their bus journeys has Busabout sailing trips in Croatia. I continuously met travelers in Europe, raging about this trip, so this year I decided to experience it for myself.

I took the Split-to-Split sailing tour which was a seven-day cruise around the Dalmatian coast of Croatia. My boat, the Plomin , had 33 passengers (of which I was the only one not from Australia or New Zealand), our guide (and Australia), and five crew members.

From a business point of view, I was impressed with their product. The trip was well organized, the boat was beautiful, the route was well put together, and there was included a few on-shore activities. In addition, the guide knew what he was saying and gave excellent advice and everything went like clockwork. Organizationally, I was impressed

How I spend my week

Day 1 -.? Hvar
We split left at 14.00 and after a brief dip on the island of Hvar, came to 6 after dinner we had a few drinks and went out to the bars where the crowded atmosphere a bit much had to handle. I do not like constantly pushed in while I try to drink a beer. If you are drinking, Hvar is the spot to enjoy crazy nightlife

Day 2 -. Mljet
Mljet is home to a large National Park with an island in the middle of the lake. There are hiking, camping and other fun activities that would have been nice if we had to enjoy it more than a few hours. There is not much on this island and we just hang the night on the boat, the others get to know people on the tour

the beautiful cobblestone streets in Dubrovnik Day 3 -. Dubrovnik
We came here lunchtime, which was disappointing because I had hoped to spend more time here at one of the biggest destinations in Croatia. Dubrovnik was beautiful, and I will come back here for a longer stay. "Revelin." Before in a fortress called the club heading

- After hiking the streets of the city went for a while, our group for dinner - where I the best calamari I have had in recent memory day 4 - Korcula
Korcula is famous for its alleged birthplace of Marco Polo. The city is a beautiful medieval city walls, which I. To enjoyed walking It was in the city not much going on, and as my group of Dubrovnik was still tired, I spent the evening on the ship, watching a movie and get some rest

Day 5 -. Markaska
Makarska is a great place for beachgoers, and there are many water sports. I was not a big fan of this place; The beaches were crowded with people, and I felt more like I was in Bangkok during rush hour was as at a beach. I walked the boardwalk, had an ice cream, and went to dinner. The highlight of my time here? Partying in a cave. Yes, it was as cool as it sounds. Outside of these but I'll skip Markaska in future. There are too many people in too small beach

Day 6 -. Omis
Our last night before returning Split was spent in the small town of Omis. It is a place to swim, a place to eat, and a main bar. After frying the whole morning in the sun, I dived into a cafe and relaxed. That night was the dinner of the captain and the famous Pirate Party. On all cruises, have Busabout groups a dress-up party on their last night. All boats are in Omis that night, so you will end up with people from several boats in the city. Everyone wants on one bar, and it looks like a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean . It was very funny and many (many) pirate jokes were, had

Day 7 -. Split
Back in Split, we were on our own devices for the day before returning to the boat for one last night

a few comments on the tour .:
between all of our goals was a lunch stop for swimming. Lunch was served on the boat every day; Beer and alcohol were also served, but cost extra. Water costs also additional, which was an unfortunate surprise. I also found the extra cost of the grill and dinner Captain huge waste of money and would recommend just going into the villages for a better and cheaper food.

How much does it cost?

[1945012DieseTouren]
cost upwards of $ 1,400 USD in high season, and if they are connected to the other incidental expenses of travel, people usually about $ 250 per day at the end of average. That's a lot of money! I was able to enjoy a five star holiday in Paris for that amount! However, when they organized boat trip with other operators as compared Fanatics, Contiki or sailing Croatia, Busabout the cheapest option for Croatia.

However, I would see these tours during the season from early May and September, when the prices are about 50-60% cheaper, it is easier to find deals, and the masses in every port are smaller. At this lower price level, these tours are a much better value

Would I recommend this tour

jumping off the busabout boat in croatia
go in this tour, I knew only two things.? It would be most Aussies (Busabout with Australian backpackers is very popular), and it would be much drinking. will

At the end I had a really good time and went a few people I met remain. in contact with in the future But I do not think I would take one of these tours again. There is not enough time spent at each destination, and I'm good on the "travel to Party" mode, which were most of the other people on the boat in the boat was fun, the people are nice, and the weather perfect - , But I'd rather see a movie and go to bed when the drink to stay until the early morning outside.

But just because I would not do it again does not mean you should not. I think if you are traveling alone, a couple, or a couple of friends are looking to meet other travelers and party, Busabout for you would be fantastic. It offers the same advantages as the hop-on, hop-off buses, which I think for travelers are wonderful. (Unfortunately, there is no hop-on, hop-off boat, that would be awesome, but I think that option is called only a ferry.)

I always ask people traveling like this, "you would recommend it to friends, and have you have fun? "and wanted while many people on my boat there were some free water (come on, you can not even give us a bottle when we on?! get) and better value with the Grill and captain's dinner, not a person I asked, she told herself not have the benefit. In heartbeat said they would all do it again. In fact, for some, this was their second or third tour Busabout.

And I think that a lot of say about how well the company and the experience is.

My cruise Busabout Croatia make boring to a lot of fun, more than I thought it would be. These tours are not my cup of tea more, but if you want to search for a party associated with a number of other young (and older - there were two 40-year-old women on my boat) travelers could this boat for you

after all, how many companies massively organize pirate-themed parties

Note :.?! Busabout presented the tour for free. Flights, drinks, off-ship meals and other incidentals were paid by me.
