Answering Reader Mail: travel, life, teacher, Instagram -

questions for matt Earlier this year, I started Video Q & As on my Facebook page. But between slow Internet connections in rural Cambodia, to finish a book, and everyday, I just could not keep up with the video, and so they stopped. But since I really love readers to answer the question "Mail" I wanted to do something . Knowing I did not have the time to capture, edit, and process a video at the moment, I have decided to create a blog post was just as good.

So a few weeks ago I asked for questions. Here are the questions and my answers:

Paul wants to know why I have not been in the Philippines be
I've been just not there yet .. It's a big world. It is though on my list. Then again, everywhere is on my list

Jim asks a travel question: "I fly in Ganzhou, China, in February, and will for 17 days to Backpacking Any suggestions on where to visit and. what to see while I'm there? "
For China travel advice, ask Mike or Benny. I have not been to China.

cat wants to know if I have any tips or advice for first-time conference attendees.
Imagine anyone and everyone. You can not succeed in blogging without the help of other bloggers

Tyler asks another trip. Question: "What is the city in Europe is the best hub for cheap flights within Europe"
I do not really think it is a city, which is better than all the rest. There are a lot of low-cost flights from London, Barcelona and Berlin but.

Joel over some of the worst mistakes I curious is made during the trip.
I make mistakes every day. I can not think of a monumental errors that completely changed everything. It is especially small things like forgetting a train pass or do not plan my route intelligent buying and asks backtracked

Michelle. "What you have in Germany liked most"
Cheap beer, sausages and German women. You are very pretty. (! The women, not sausages)

Dustin asks: "A greeting, punch, high five or handshake What is it going?"
Duh! Always a high five! * High five *

Becky wants to know if it is worthwhile to visit Estonia in February.
I've been to Tallinn, Estonia only, but I thought it was an amazing city. I would recommend visiting it if you can, but in February, it would be very, very cold

Steve asks me. "Do you think that the airlines coach on purpose to make so brutal to give people an" incentive "to buy a better fit (as business class)?"
No, they do it to make money save up. For them it is a way to reduce costs, add fees and earn more money. The passengers do not look at the economy and think, "I 10x more money for the business class spend." Economy, where people who want to sit cheap flights. If people had the money for business class, they would not be economic to buy tickets. , Economy sucks because to get airlines away with it because people care more about saving us money, as they do through the Service

Joe Murphy asked the best question: "You mention on your website how easy and affordable it is to travel for a long time, but just to start a blog, how is it possible that the ordinary people travel without large savings behind them? "
Joe, is the whole purpose to teach my blog people how to do that. It is the glue that binds every post of mine. Here are just a few places where I give tips on how to do that:

Alberto asks a planning question:" What is the best (cheapest yet comfortable) way to go from Belgium (or Netherlands) to London? I've never really tried, so-called low-cost airlines such as Ryanair. If there is a train option that I could also consider. "
you can use the train (but that would be quite expensive), a cheap Ryanair flight or a ferry. I do not know how much the ferry costs. Simple: look at all three and go with what is always one of the cheapest you need a day

Becca asks :. "How can one determine a TESOL or other English certification site if is real?"
a number of global sites there that are good. I like the I-to-I TEFL course, because it is cheap, and its courses can be taken online. Look for courses accredited at a university, associated or recommended by teachers forums like Daves ESL Cafe.

Kellye want to know if all the family members, like my parents, have joined me on my travels
No, no one has accompanied me on my travels

Matt asks .. "If you could offer one piece of advice to someone who does not have much money saved (and may even student loan debt like me have), but want to start as soon as possible, to travel, what would it be? "
go somewhere cheap and near.

Saeyoon needs a good conversation starter.
I'm a big fan of "Hello, my name is Matt." It is simple and straight to the point. Travelers are friendly - just go and say hello

John asks me: "Did you have Instagram?"
Yes, I use it for photos in my Twitter feed .. My username is "nomadicmatt."

Kelsey Kay asks: "My friend and I want to move out of the country I am a certified English (Bachelor plus TEFL) to teach, and he is a certified scuba instructor Any advice on a place.. which would be good for both of us? "
I would go somewhere in Southeast Asia, where there is a high demand for the two professions.

Linda has about Thailand: "You can get a beach area to stay Suggest a week, which is not entirely tourists We are mid 50s, like a little comfort, but not fussy. "
Good relaxed places in Thailand are Ko Lanta, Ko Samet, Ko Kuk or Ko Mak.

Carlie asks: "Where would you recommend for a destination wedding?"
I would like to get married in the Seychelles. If there is a heaven, it looks probably so, but without know more about you, it's hard to recommend a place for you.

Cali wonders about my musical tastes at the moment.
I hear all kinds of music. My current favorites are Neko Case, La Roux, the head and the heart, and Susan Tedeschi. There is also never a big gap between Dave Matthews Band songs on my playlist.

That's it for this round of questions. I'll try to do this every few months, and when I go to get something like a routine in my life, I am planning a few videos to do. If you have questions, leave them in the comment section. I'll answer as many as I can.
