More of My Favorite Hostels in Europe
A long time ago I wrote a post about my favorite hostels in Europe. Since then I have slept in many new and amazing hostel in Europe. Here are some of the best:
The Bulldog (Amsterdam, Netherlands)
Although The Flying Pig is one of my favorite hostels in the world, a large Amsterdam alternative is the bulldog. It is located right in the heart of the red light district and has a great bar, friendly staff, and the oldest café in the city. While I thought the lack of a common area to the hostel detracted from the overall sociability that the pub takes its place has great food and cheap drinks. The bedrooms are very clean and spacious, and they have their own showers.
Hostel Mostel (Bulgaria)
The hostel has locations in three cities in Bulgaria (Sofia, Plovdiv and Veliko Tarnovo), and they all follow the same principles: comfortable beds, free breakfast, free dinner, free beer, shots, a pool table and free, fast Wi-Fi. I honestly do not always offer a hostel seen so much free stuff for travelers. Usually backpackers stay at all locations Hostel Mostel once And it's only € 8 per night, so that the same people run into often. I found it mostly I booked at the last minute to stay tries, so I recommend to book in advance. This hostel was my favorite in this six-month tour of Europe.
Kismet Dao (Brasov, Romania)
Probably the best hostel in Romania, it had a large backyard in relax, a pretty good breakfast (Frosted Flakes !), a big and clean kitchen, comfortable rooms and a large common area. I did not like the shower because there was not much privacy (think gym style), but overall, this place is socially, in a good location, and checks all the right boxes on the fulfillment of a traveler's needs.
The Yellow (Rome, Italy)
The yellow is just a fun hostel. There is no common area, so everyone hangs down from the bar. People come here to socialize and party. It is a noisy hostel in this regard, but because the party is separated from the main area, you can not really hear much in the rooms. They have a great safety, high water pressure in the showers, comfortable beds, and decent enough Wi-Fi. They also walks throughout Rome.
Tallinn Backpackers (Tallinn, Estonia)
This hostel for those who want to come to Tallinn and party, I do not really do while I was there was. But I found the hostel to be wonderful because the beds were comfortable and the staff provide really a focus on getting to know each other and the guests to interact. They make a nightly pub crawl, before everyone gets together in the large common room (they close at 11 pm, so people who want to go get some sleep can not).
Euphoria Hostel (Tallinn, Estonia)
Because I like things to book last minute I had a lot to change hostels during my stay in Tallinn. While Tallinn Backpackers is a great spot for the party scene, Euphoria is perfect for relaxing. Owned by some hippies, this place has a relaxed atmosphere. There are a lot of colorful art on the walls, bean bag chairs, soft music, and a quiet atmosphere. It was a good change of Tallinn Backpackers. Plus, I really enjoyed the fact that the band owner plays a free concert every week.
Central Station (Kiev, Ukraine)
Not so much a hostel as a number of apartments in the same building, Central Station a hostel true hostel. It has large bedrooms, a few showers, a small kitchen and a little common area. It is mainly the spirit of the place that makes it cool. Activities every night, very friendly staff, and the tiny room that everyone forces to establish themselves and to meet, not only behind their computers sit
Greg and Tom Party Hostel (Krakow, Poland)
I came here on the strength of a glowing recommendation from a friend. What I liked about this hostel was that on the one hand, there on the full use of the Cracow lively nightlife is a strong focus. On the other hand, they have two separate buildings, so if you want quiet at night, you can stay in the non-party building. They offer a complimentary breakfast, they cook a meal every evening (salad, potatoes, pasta or meat), they have Nintendo Wii and Playstation, and there is a large movie collection. But what I loved most was the showers. It was the best shower I took in months
Honorable mention . Wombats (Vienna, Austria), Hostel Blues (Bratislava, Slovakia)
Now that I'm done again with my trip to Europe, I'm not sure when or if I'll ever as such an ardent backpack swinging through. But as I continue to explore Europe and staying in hostels, I will add to this list hold.
