24 amazing places to eat and drink in New York -

The New York City skyline lit up beautifully at night I love to live it here. New York City is a microcosm of the world, where one another and people speak a dozen other languages all stumble on the same road next to various four ethnic grocery stores. I feel like I, without ever leaving the city to escape other areas of the world can return.

I have lived in New York in January, and the more I am here, the more I fall in love with New York. I got to the places I reacquainted loved when I lived here in 2010 and discovered some amazing new places.

It's easy to Times Square, Central Park, and all the big names caught celebrity chef restaurants. It is easy to get lost in the thousands of food and drink options in the city. Today I want some well-known and not so well-known places to share and drink in the Big Apple to eat. This is where I go and enjoy myself when I'm not on the road.

Restaurants

Delicious display fish on display, ready to be picked and cooked for dinner

Hot Kitchen (104 2nd Ave & 251 E 53rd St)

- Delicious and fiery Szechuan food at a reasonable price , Try the tripe (it is better than I thought it would be)! Be warned, however: the food here is really spicy! Since I am a wimp when it comes to spicy food, my stomach was still the next day suffer

Yuba (105 E 9th St) -. My favorite sushi place in the city, the small restaurant is easy to miss. I visit here often - so often they gave me cake on my birthday and call me when they have special offers. Not the uni or the tuna miss

Sao Mai (203 1st Ave) -. A great Vietnamese place near my apartment is, this place serves pho that rocks my world. The portions are huge here and after my friend Jodi, who is an expert in all food Vietnamese, this place is authentic

S'MAC (345 E 12th St) -. A mac-and-cheese-shop that takes the traditional dish and makes it even better. It's heavenly, cheesy goodness. Your 4-cheese and cheeseburgers are my two favorites. get S'MAC Belly

Bare Burger (153 8. I'm often to eat and can - The fact that this place around the block from my house has become a problem, although ! Ave) - home of the best gourmet burgers in town. They use all natural and organic ingredients, and the number of tips you can put on the burger is amazing. Not only do they serve great burgers, but they have really good organic and healthy salads, sides and sandwiches. You can get beef, chicken, bison, ostriches, elk or a veggie burger. My favorite is the bacon country, because what is a burger without bacon

Shake Shack (Madison Ave & E.23rd St) - An institution in New York City, some with multiple locations to the city, the Shake Shack is a must-visit, with all-around delicious burgers, fries, and, of course, smoothies. The original location in Madison Square Park has a long queue to wait usually so prepared (even if you look at the Shake Cam on their website to see).

Wonder Siam (792 9th Ave) - in Thailand live ruined me for Thai cuisine. It is never as good outside the country, as it was when I was there. (I mean, if someone can tell me where I can find pork noodle soup, let me know, because I will be there at the next level.) But Wondee is the closest thing that I have authentic Thai cuisine found (and it is no wonder, where I also found out from some local Thais)

Masala times (194 Bleecker St) -. I was turned on at this point in the vicinity of the New York University campus recently. Serving Bombay-style street food, this place serves some really good Indian dishes. I could not get enough. The plates are shareable, and you get rice and bread, too. Try the fish tikka - it is

delicious

Vanessa's Dumpling (220 E 14th St) - go I stumbled upon this place in the East Village during home one day. it was only later that I actually found it quite famous. After eating her dumplings, it's easy to see why. They were delicious - the potato dumplings had intense flavor to them. And at 10 for $ 2, the price is just right

Sripraphai Thai Restaurant (64-13 39th Ave) -. The best Thai restaurant in New York. As someone who has lived in Thailand, I have a very high standard and this it exceeds all. If you only eat at a Thai place, make this location

Prosperity Dumplings (46 Eldridge St) -. In Chinatown, that's another amazing dumplings Place. The potato dumplings come fried or steamed, and there is a nearby park, where you can if this small place is sitting fully. And if you want more for later? You can select 50 frozen dumplings for $ 8 buy

Johns on Bleecker (278 Bleecker St) - Pizza in New York is an institution, and I admit I'm not a pizza Guru. For me it is either bad, good or very good. I can not fine Pizza distinctions like a New Yorker can do. I qualify as Johns really good. The thin pizza comes large enough to serve three in huge portions. The service is quick, but expect to wait for a table at dinner

Chelsea Market (75 9th Ave) -. Chelsea Market more a collection of food places as a single restaurant. It is very popular and a great place to pop in if you need some food to a meal or snack. They are good Thai food here, and Amy's Bread has amazing bread. The Lobster Place has decent sushi (and great lobster), but I really enjoy their clam chowder. If a meal with local and organic food, try the Green Table

Smorgasbord (0 Kent Ave) -. Smorgasburg is an outdoor food market, the until from May every weekend in late November. There are two locations: Saturday at East River State Park and Sundays waterfront DUMBO. Nearly 100 vendors serve food and drinks, and on a warm day in summer, you would place teeming locals

Rosemary (18 Greenwich Ave) to find -. This West Village Italian restaurant has a rooftop farm fresh produce and herbs directly into the food goes to eat. Your handmade pasta are a must eat and they have a good selection Rosé. It is one of the best brunch locations in the city also. Come, because it really quickly filled early especially on nice warm day.

Bar / Lounge

Oil and vinegar canisters on a bar next to a candle in NYC
Sake Bar Decibel (240 E 9th St) - This sake bar in a basement hundreds of different kinds of reasons used (and some basic Japanese appetizers). It is small, cozy and a little too warm, but it is known that the large Japanese clientele means it's good. , Some of the best sake I've ever had was served here

The Back Room (102 Norfolk St) - Located in an alley and literally through a back entrance, this prohibition style bar offers in teacups serves drinks (they were used back in the 20s, to deceive police - a nice touch) in a library-style room. It is a popular late night spot on weekends

Death & Company ( 433 E 6th St) -. My favorite cocktail bar in the city, the prohibition style bar is for serious cocktail lovers. They make the best martinis I've ever had - so smooth it's like to drink water. If you are looking for high quality cocktails, there is no other place to visit. It is here very crowded, and the wait time can get up to an hour, but fortunately there are nearby bars to hang out while you wait.

Rye House (11 West 17th St) - one of my favorite cocktail bars in the city, this bar affordable, a popular after work spot, has a good meal menu (try the fried pickles), and in the city makes some of the best drinks. Better yet, their gigantic whiskey list with hundreds of whiskeys from around the world. Is If you like ghosts, come here

Triona on third parties (192 3rd Ave) -. A sports bar with good drink specials and darts. It's a great, relaxing place to go to with friends for after-work drinks. Watch out for packaged game nights as the place once the game is over, leave the people pretty quickly (and get the dartboard all to itself).

The Thirteenth Step (149 2nd Ave) - This is the typical college bar with dollar on Tuesday nights beer. If you get drunk on cheap beer, this is the right place to do it. Dollar beers are a rarity here in New York City, and while I have no desire to work with children to celebrate with fake IDs, I'm going to stop to another bar for a few cheap drinks on the way in.

the Frying Pan (207 12th Ave) - an old boat on the Hudson river, this bar is a after-work and Happy Hour integral part of New York, especially in summer when the boat with locals teeming come for drinks, sun and socializing -. all the reasons why this is one of my favorite places in the summer is also

The Standard Biergarten (848 Washington St) - Famous, celebrity vulnerable and not like anything you ever been to Germany, the beer garden the standard-find, is still a great place for drinks. The picnic tables allow you, your friends or make some new, there are ping-pong tables, and the casual, after-work environment makes it a great place to hang out with friends.

Museums talk

Finally, in addition to food and drink, here are two museums that not getting enough love:
