I'm going on an African safari the next month!
In a strong deviation from the last week post, let's talk about something more uplifting. Since I started learning about the world, I have dreamed of visiting Africa. This desire only increased when I started traveling. I always imagine this great journey: a few months to East Africa on Safari (plus a long hike Kilimanjaro), spices in Zanzibar, and spending as long as possible to discover relaxing on the beaches of the Seychelles. That's my ultimate dream trip. But I save this trip for when it is to take someone.
Fortunately, there are many more than just these sights in Africa.
On 28th of this month, I will fly to Cape Town for a three week trip to South Africa, Zambia, Namibia and Botswana with G Adventures.
I do not really know what to expect from this trip. I've never been to Africa, and I do not know much about the countries that I will visit others than what I have read online (well, I know a little about South Africa). Maybe that's a good thing. In this way, I will have to overcome any preconceptions or prejudices - I can only assume the countries, as they are. Preconceived ideas to ruin a place.
This will be a "basic" trip, many camping in the bush means that sounds totally awesome. As Internet freely, while I'm there, that concentrate on leave, what is really important. Not to be eaten kicked by an elephant by a lion or feet
Joking aside, how excited I am about going to Africa
?JUMP ON A COUCH LOVE IT!
And I think, which is very cool, I is counting down on this trip that even after six years constant travel, I can still butterflies in your stomach get a new place to visit. Will I make it to the hotel alright? What will be the food? What scams I look out for? What is malaria?
Of course, I learned long ago that all these fears and questions of course are unfounded. I'll be perfectly fine. I'm going to make it in one piece to my hotel, I'll be sure I will see amazing things, and my time it will be perfect. But in a way it is comforting to know that no matter how much of an "expert" you are new places yet you can take back to the first travel moments where you boarded the plane and thought of himself, everything will be fine or I'm crazy to do this?
Yes, yes I am. I'm crazy to do after all this. Crazy like a fox! Africa continent # 6 be for me. I really hope that I see on the condition the famous Honey Badger - these things are Badass. How Badass? This video shows how:
But even if the honey badger me eludes, I'm three weeks Safari spend a long-held dream into reality. It may not be my last African dream trip, but it's still a dream come true.
Merry Christmas early to me!
