Lisbon: even better the second time
There are some places that you never leave. There you can not physically, but a piece of you will always remain behind at the location, which has stolen so much of your heart. He lives there, experience this initial memories waiting to be made new.
Last year I visited Lisbon for the first time, and although the visit was short, the thought has never left me. I fell madly in love, and the city maintains a hold on me, I could never shake.
But I worry a lot about the city goes back to I love the first time. What if I only hunt ghosts? What if there was not the same? What if I go back and hate it? Will I see only the presence of the past?
So I touched with a mixture of excitement in Lisbon last week down and trepidation, but when I stepped into the street, I knew in my bones that we are soulmates. And if you just meant to be with someone, all changes in the world does not matter.
It was as if I had never left. Lisbon and I adapt easily. I went new roads feeling I before it had been. I navigated the metro with ease. I felt at home in unfamiliar restaurants. I sat to share jokes with Portuguese shopkeeper, though we did not understand each other's native language
Mostly I wandered the city speechless as I was amazed at how beautiful it is -. With beautifully tiled houses filled with red roofs and winding cobbled streets that snake between multistory houses draped with Portuguese flags and hanging laundry.
on every corner, I noticed to my friend "? Damn, how beautiful and amazing is Lisbon"
[1945001beidiesemBesuch], I on the nearby beach relaxing in the city of Cascais, where my mind like appearance was a bit of human after some time in the Sun. I dined on fabulous fish in Santa Rita, a delicious and cheap downtown restaurant (21 euros for fish, a liter of wine, bread and rice with seafood). I checked tourist attractions such as the Museum of the History and the castle. I was so late in the Barrio Alto from (an area for wild nightlife known) that I slept most gone the next day. (I mostly still blame the jetlag.)
There are travel moments when the stars seem to be aligning. Sipping wine from a cafe, while neighborhood kids play football in the street and grandma hanging laundry out of the windows, I knew how happy I was to see this goal in all its glory reveal unto me. Life can not be better in moments like that.
Lisbon is filled with beautiful architecture, history, charism, nightlife, people, and so incredible budget value, I do not but daydream of renting can help a quiet little apartment one of these cobbled streets.
Some places you wow.
Some places take your breath away.
And then there are places like Lisbon, that your soul to grasp, and you're never the same again.
