Saturday Location: Stratford-upon-Avon
The birthplace of the Bard, Stratford-upon-Avon is a Mecca for Shakespeare enthusiasts. Tourists descend on this city in droves in the summer months, and everywhere I there were many people.
The city has besides its Shakespearean past to offer much, but. Outside the historic area, it's just another town English. But inside is a different story. You have to get gone their way and take advantage of the Bard and the historical past of the city
There are numerous sites dedicated to the playwright -. You can see his house, birthplace, theater and final resting place. The Royal Shakespeare Company relies on numerous pieces from the spring to autumn. This year, they do Hamlet, the Shrew, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and The Merchant of Venice. The big theater they usually result in is closed until 09 for renovation, but they run on smaller courtyard theater down the street.
Outside the city, you can see Anne Hathaway Cottage, the birthplace of the Bard woman.
A good walk starts at the information center and the road along the Avon River down draws. There happen to come both Shakespeare Theater and a few nice houses before the Trinity Church on William Shakespeare's tomb. Also on this road is the only Shakespeare, a museum that uses holograms to tell the story bards. Trinity Church, where he is buried, has well worn grave stones dating back to many centuries around the courtyard. It is quite interesting to walk around and try to decrypt the data. The church itself is fairly simple, however, and not as spectacular.
From there you can turn around and go in the direction of Hall Croft (his daughter home) and the memory see dedicated from the Second World War soldiers garden. Then there is a slight turn to the left and then a straight shot past a museum, his house, the city center, and then finally his birthplace.
There is a great way to see Shakespeare's life in reverse order, or you can go from birth to death. The hike takes you through all the major attractions, the city center, and a few blocks from the church, who are a little out of the way of all of the crowds. In fact Stratford was quite nice and relaxing when you escaped from the chaos of the city center. You could only walk slowly and stare at all the houses without crowds and cars dodge.
Stratford center despite the rush was surprisingly well preserved. Around the building of the Tudor period were derived and, running around, it was easy to imagine the Bard and his country to go through the streets.
High Street was the highlight of the city for me. This street has a house by the Tudor-style, time many who as far back as Henry VIII. Peering in, you can still see the original wood and low ceilings. For this story Geek It was fascinating
Stratford is just a regular city, but around the center and in the surrounding streets is history -. And lots of it. For any Shakespeare lovers, Stratford is a must on your trip to England. However, if you want to see a show, make sure you book early as tickets are usually sold out, and a ticket to get the day requires a lot of luck.
If you do not like William Shakespeare is not, then the city is not worth it. There are much nicer places in England spend your time, if you have no interest in the Bard
