Perfect near Tokyo and Kyoto, highlights of this region are the beautiful and historic city of Kanazawa, the charming and traditional town Takayama, and the world-class ski resorts of Nagano.

in the summer you can hike on the Nakasendo Way, and enjoy the winter in onsen , whereas in a traditional ryokan. This part of Japan is also home to the adorable snow monkeys and the castle town of Matsumoto.
