The next morning - after a delicious breakfast in the Japanese style in CLASKA - they went near Shibuya . Shibuya is one of Tokyo's most famous neighborhoods and especially known for its much-photographed "Scramble" intersection, and for its colorful teen fashion.

In Shibuya, they went to one of our favorite places also, the food hall ( depachika ) of Tokyo Food Show in the basement of Shibuya Station. Visiting a depachika food hall for food lovers is an absolute must, and Tokyu Food Show is a great.

Boutique Japan Featured Travelers Tokyo Shinjuku alley bars

Amanda evening we arranged for them on a private dinner to go in a narrow alley of Shinjuku

and drink tour . Your local expert guides they met at the hotel and took them for some of Tokyo excellent tiny hidden bars and izakayas . This can be hard to find (especially if it's your first day in Tokyo!) But they are one of the best ways to immerse yourself in Tokyo for daily life.

The next morning she woke up early (despite a late night of eating and drinking) on a private culinary tour to go Tokyo famous Tsukiji Fish Market.

NOTE: to make the trip as fun and easy as possible, we had their suitcases directly from their hotel in Tokyo in order to forward their Kyoto Hotel, Hakone bypasses. For short stays you ryokan do not need much apart from a small travel bag, and can travel with a lot of luggage in Japan a hassle. Fortunately Japan has an amazing luggage forwarding system, secure, affordable and reliable

Japanese people take their Bentos seriously, and you can enjoy gourmet local and seasonal Bentos in Tokyo Station GranSta shopping district (the best place to have some quality sake for the ride is at Hasegawa Saketen Tokyo Station) ,

Their first shinkansen trip - from Tokyo to Odawara (the gateway to Hakone National Park ) - was relatively short: about 40 minutes. In fact, the trip was so quick that they miss their stop accidentally! Fortunately, they got to the next station and station staff helped them reach the correct stop.

Boutique Japan Featured Travelers Hakone Yamanochaya Ryokan

is In their ryokan

Hakone many reasons famous, also its beautiful landscapes and the richness of onsen (hot Springs). But it is known for its proximity to the legendary Mount Fuji. It is not always clear, but if there are the views of Mount Fuji Hakone spectacular!

Visit Most travelers Hakone as a day trip from Tokyo, but the best way is by spending one or two nights to experience in one of its traditional ryokan (Japanese-style inn).

Hakone is blessed with several luxury ryokans, and we arranged for Amanda and Shahin at the beautiful and traditional Yamanochaya Ryokan.

are most travelers surprised in Kyoto Station for the first time arrive to see that at least the surface it looks like an ordinary city. At first glance, there is no sign the Kyoto imagine most people, and only after exploring Kyoto further is this first impression begins to wane.

In Kyoto we arranged for Amanda and Shahin on just to stay but amazingly- Location Royal Park Hotel THE Kyoto. While Kyoto has better luxury and boutique hotels, this hotel offers an ideal location modern rooms in addition to a primary hybrids Kyoto (Sanjo-Kawaramachi).

tofu rolls in Higashiyama

Kyoto the capital of Japan for over a thousand years, and while most of the city today modern in appearance, feel several neighborhoods as if they have not changed for hundreds of years. One of the best area in which to dive in the old Kyoto, the Higashiyama district .

Higashiyama ( "Eastern Mountain") on the slope of Kyoto picturesque eastern mountains is, and Amanda and Shahin fell in love with this charming neighborhood. On weekends and holidays the area is flooded with visitors, but despite the tourists and souvenir shops, this is a must-visit areas of Kyoto. also perform Strolling the rather steep streets of Higashiyama to Kyoto iconic temple Kiyomizu-dera .

Boutique Japan Featured Travelers Kyoto Nishiki

of Nishiki Market

Apart from temples and history, Kyoto is also a culinary destination. The best place to immerse yourself in Kyoto cuisine is on central Nishiki Market . Nishiki is a long and narrow alley full of colorful stalls to dry everything from seafood selling goods. This is a great place to try a famous Kyoto specialties, tsukemono (cucumbers).

Steps from Nishiki is a famous ramen shop called Ippudo, and Amanda and Shahin was during her short time in Kyoto easily possessed several times with the Ippudo ramen to stop here for lunch. It's a great place for a quick but tasty lunch visit before or after Nishiki.

Another memorable experience from their time in Kyoto was sake Sake Bar Yoramu tasting. Yoramu runs a unique of Japan's sake bars, and here they had the chance sake basics to learn, while bold and unconventional sakes tasting. (While this is a great bar for those with a fairly serious interest is to Sake if one for a forward more fun or relaxing experience izakaya may be a better option) .

But of all their experiences in Kyoto, a place at the end standing as Amanda and Shahin favorite: the bamboo forest in Arashiyama

Arashiyama is a picturesque, quiet location. Area on the western outskirts of Kyoto. Despite located in the city, it often feels worlds apart (especially on weekdays, when there are fewer tourists).
