Updates of My Awesome African Adventure Safari
Hello from Africa! I'm back for a brief moment in civilization and thought I would give you a quick update. Africa was wonderful. I am currently in the Namibian capital Windhoek, people away from my tour removing and adding a few new faces. The next stop? One week in Botswana, before I. To Victoria Falls head and finish my trip in Zambia
Twelve days into my trip, I can tell you that this part of Africa, everything is there to be cracked. While I have seen only South Africa and Namibia, I am amazed every day, and my ideas about Africa have been turned upside down. Africa's Zoo God. so close to be really so many animals, gives you an appreciation of nature and the wilderness. I have taken a thousand pictures (see below for a small sample) and am yet to take me during my last week.
It's hard not to photograph. The landscape here is great. Compared to all the other places that I have visited in the world, Africa seems unaffected. Animals roam free, and for miles upon miles, you will see some signs of humans as you barrel down unkept dirt roads. Once in a while, you pass people along the road and wonder on foot, as you notice the emptiness around you, "where on earth they could go?"
Each sunset and sunrise only gets better with each passing day. I have never seen so many vivid colors in one place.
Viewed This trip has much to think about me, and while I'm going to save this deep thought for another post, I can say Africa has taught me at least one thing: I'm not a country boy. While I appreciate the inherently always, device and a tent that down and sleeping in a sleeping bag is not fun. Nature is great, but after two or three days roughing it, I am ready to go back to civilization. I like beds, pillows and other conveniences. I remember before in Australia five years camping and stay in constant campsites. The tents were set up with small beds that you threw on a sleeping bag. That was enough roughing it for me.
But here in Africa, I have to worry about black mambas, scorpions, baboons, and being eaten by hyenas when I decide from my tent for one to get up at 3am bathroom break. (O. K., I'm probably not going to die on the way to the bathroom, but I'm still freaking out!)
Simply put, I am a big baby boy city. And you know what? I'm OK. in order to. I like cities.
I picked up a camping trip because I wanted to see Africa from the ground, not a hotel room, and not to do, despite my wimpy way, I regret it. The best trips are always the one where you push yourself out of your comfort zone a little.
After is Africa .
I can deal with a little if camping is what it takes to see. Even if I make my bed like without worrying about snakes, everything I've seen, the site has value. And I'm super excited for what comes next - bushwalking and scenic flights in Botswana
Here are five photos to whet your appetite for the next photo posts .:
