A Girl's Guide to Italy
This is a guest post by Laura, our resident expert on female travel.
The reasons are as varied to Italy's gelato flavors to travel like. Some people go to get a taste of history, while others at the outdoor activities. For me, Italy is on indulgences ... and about indulgences! From architecture to food for life to wine, Italians go all out. You know how to eat, they know how to dress, and they know how to party. Women should make a pilgrimage to Italy at one point or to see a different and Italian delights, of which take some well:
Italian men
Let us straight to the point Italian men are beautiful. The sentence: "Tall, dark and handsome" was probably coined in Italy. I think most straight women Italian men find easy on the eyes to be, so if people watching is your thing, then consider going to Italy. The men here are very polite and make it easy to fall in love with them is that is not a bad thing.
sculptures
When Italian men do not do it for you, perhaps the perfectly shaped ones do. They usually have a chiseled set of abs, they use not bad pick-up lines, and bear only very little, if at all, clothes. Michelangelo's David is one of Italy's most popular sculptures. When you visit Florence, check his contrapposto questions and see how it works wonders for showing his character. If you do not want to pay to see David, there are two equally striking replicas in the city. You can also access to the Uffizi head to see many Renaissance sculptures and art in one place
carbohydrates
It is a fact. Women crave carbohydrates more than men. So why not satisfy the craving with pizza, lasagne, pasta and bread? I'm pretty sure Italy would give his middle finger on the Atkins diet, if it could. Italians tend with each meal to eat bread, and although it food, Italian pasta and pizza is hard decisions are delicious. If the weather is nice, have an outdoor dinner by candlelight. And if you eat a quick bite, you can always pick up a slice of pizza for just a few euros. Julia Roberts Eat, Pray, Love had a problem installation in jeans after a few months in Italy for a reason!
Gelato
It's not like a crime gelato. Hopefully you have room for dessert left to a carbohydrate-heavy meal. Gelaterias in Italy are as 7-11s in Bangkok: they are everywhere. It is difficult, the freshly made cones and see to smell the huge variety of flavors and does not try to be inward step. There are so many delicious flavors that it can be difficult to choose only. If you can spare the space, you make your decision easy and to get a few balls. Nutella, coconut and chocolate are some of my favorites. And when the desire strikes, do not worry, gelato a meal on the spot to have. I tell myself: "When in Italy ..." to excuse my gelato-eating there. [Nomadic Matt says: I love the apple flavor, and if you’re hung over, nothing cures a hungover like lemon gelato!]
Vino
I love a good glass of wine with dinner. Italy wine regions are packed full of vineyards. There are 20 wine regions in Italy, so you are bound to a traveling near them. You can an organized vineyard tour, which always includes a tasting. to buy wine in supermarkets in Italy is also ridiculously cheap, so a nightly glass (or bottle) of wine is easy to do for any budget.
Architecture
you do not have a background in design require the striking architecture in Italy to appreciate. The country is known for its ancient Roman and Renaissance architecture. There are interesting structures everywhere you turn. Admire the Colosseum in Rome, the Duomo in Florence, the colorful houses on Burano, or any of Italy's amazing piazzas (public places). With thousands of years of history, Italy has so many stunning to see things.
Carnevale
I love costume parties, and I'm pretty sure that Venice Carnevale would be the ultimate one to participate. The time costumes and masks create a mysterious element in this already fascinating city. Carnevale starts around two weeks before Ash Wednesday and ends on Shrove Tuesday (the day before Ash Wednesday). As long as you can stand in large crowds, for Carnevale dressing up is a highlight on an itinerary Italy.
Shopping
While I'm on the subject of dress-up leather boots and purses in Florence, along with an emerging fashion scene, every shopaholic urge will satisfy. There are great little boutiques with unique products and also many hawkers to read. Gucci, Prada, and a thousand other designers make their home in Italy. You will find everything you want to find. Make extra space in the bag for all chic clothing you will impress your friends back home.
Italy is a little taste of heaven for female travelers. While I love the art and architecture in Italy, let us not forget the sexy men, comfort eating and drinking, and consuming events that round out the reasons why every woman should indulge in a trip to Italy.
