During 4 years traveling in Europe, I have stayed My Favorite Hostels in Europe
in more hostels than I can count. Ones I will not ever remember, I wish I could not remember, and the ones that I wish I could stay forever. I love hosteling. They are a wonderful way to meet other travelers to stay somewhere cheap, get the lay of the land, and overall have a fun travel experience. A good hostel can be as memorable as the city that you visit
The following is a list of my favorite hostels in Europe.
( Update 2015 : All these hostels my favorites are still See the bottom of this article for additional resources..)
Kabul (Barcelona, see Spain)
Kabul with The Flying Pig tied as my hostel in Europe (nearest hostel). It attracts travelers who are looking for a good time. This is not a quiet hostel where people go to bed. If you come to the hostel, to be ready to celebrate. You have a lively common room area and organize night excursions. The dorms are very clean, the beds are comfortable and the showers high pressure. But what makes Kabul so wonderful is the ground floor common area. The common area takes a whole floor of the building and has a café, bar, tables, internet kiosks and pool table. Here eat Travelers play pool, drink and hang out - and the people here want to hang. It's a good hostel for single travelers, because everyone wants to make friends here. The hostel is fully booked weeks in advance, especially during the summer, so do not book at the last minute!
The Flying Pig (Amsterdam, Netherlands)
[1945005WasichandieserStelle] love is the people. The facilities are standard (although I have ever attached my head some of the best pillows) and the hostel is on the expensive side, but I love the atmosphere here. While this hostel is popular with travelers looking to relax and smoke, the bar is also very busy at night. It is not just about smoke here. But the staff is what for me it does. You hang out with guests, experts in the city and are always happy and helpful. In Amsterdam, I never stay anywhere else.
Ostello Archi Rossi (Florence, Italy)
You had me at breakfast. I had never been in a hostel that had a menu for breakfast. You can eggs, bacon, toast, the works pancakes- obtained. It is not the normal European bread and coffee breakfast that makes me sad in the morning. There is a full hearty a breakfast! More than the food, the hostel has character. You can draw your name or on the wall, their cuisine is a size of a cafeteria, and they have a great outdoor garden where you can kick back with a bottle of wine! And did I mention they have a full breakfast?
City Backpackers (Stockholm, Sweden)
This is a classy hostel with an incredible café and outdoor eating area. The hostel has very comfortable beds, pillows, thick walls so you do not hear your noisy neighbors. I always get a good sleep here. They also have outlets everywhere, the place in Wi-Fi is covered, and I could not turn a corner without encounter in a public computer. Moreover, there are laundry facilities, a large lounge and a sauna. It is pretty much the perfect place!
Francesco (Ios, Greece)
liked Looking like this, how could you not this place? There is a pool here, kitchen, very clean rooms and comfortable beds. The owners are very friendly and accommodating, the patio area is a great place to make new friends, and every night they have to get together, so that each man can (free shot included) make a hostel. They also organize pub crawls (because it's Ios and everyone comes here to party). It is also the most centrally located hostel on the island so it is easy to go to stumble home.
Wombats (Berlin, Germany)
I think that this place is a little too expensive. Hostels in Germany are cheap and still cheap even by European standards this hostel, but I felt they charged a lot because of the name. However, while the beds and bathrooms are pretty standard (all with private bathroom but!) has on the roof terrace with stunning views of the city. On a nice day, it's surprisingly easy to go look at Berlin.
Snuffel Backpacker Hostel (Bruges, Belgium)
Near the city center, Hostel is located in a very old building, that is, the rooms are small and it is quite uncomfortable to take a shower as you down the stairs and then go into the backyard. However, they have a backyard, free Wi-Fi, an amazing selection of Belgian beers (pay attention to the 13% alcohol!), And bicycles.
Castle Rock (Edinburgh, Scotland)
The hotel is located near the Royal Mile and (you guessed it) the castle, this hostel is beautiful , The building is old, so you get beautiful wood interior, stone staircases, and a very "old" royal feeling. It is like being in an old mansion. The common area has pool tables, T. V., newspapers and free Wi-Fi. They organize events, dinner, and the staff is really nice.
Every time I go to these cities, I stay in these hostels. I am a loyal customer and if a shelter can impress me, I'll tend to it to stay over and over again. Trips stay in many mediocre or down right terrible places around you. It's nice to find a place like what travelers knows and wants, creating a hostel that really does justice to their needs.
