Favorite Destinations in Costa Rica
Costa Rica is one of the most visited countries in Central America. American tourists have long been pouring into the country, and it is a hot spot for retirees and expats are due to their favorable living, great weather, great beaches and friendly locals. I have twice in the country and have absolutely loved it both times. It's actually one of my top five favorite places in the world. Because it's not so cheap as its neighbors, have many budget travelers over Costa Rica. But in my opinion, the beauty of the destinations, the surcharge is worth below:
Puerto Viejo
located on the Caribbean coast, this city is very popular with young people and backpackers because of its great beaches, surfing and party atmosphere. The city is very much alive, and you'll find something going on every night. It is probably the most popular destination on the Caribbean coast. There are also many quiet beach hotels in the area for those who are looking for some peace and quiet

Cahuita
Cahuita, a small town next to a stunning national park of the same name, is directly about an hour north of Puerto Viejo. Cahuita is a place to relax. There is a bar in the city that comes to life (sometimes it's half full!) But just sitting around for the most part, after a day of hiking, wildlife observation, swimming or surfing, most people and to read.
Torteguero
Tortuguero, Costa Rican version of the Amazon rainforest, dominated the north coast. This massive area is a series of rivers and canals that criss-cross the jungle. The biggest attractions in this area are the large number of turtles (hence the name Tortuguero) that nest along the coast. The best time to see them is nesting in April and May, but if you visit during the off-season, you will still be able to walk and participate in canal cruises. There are seen throughout the year many animals.
Corcovado
Corcovado National Park is on the remote Osa Peninsula in southwestern Costa Rica. Although to be more popular than before, it is still a very robust, quiet and off-the-beaten-path destination in a country where almost everything on the beaten path. The peninsula is not easy to achieve (to keep the tourists away helps), but your efforts will be greatly rewarded with deserted beaches, tons of wildlife, great hiking, camping and many marine life. It is one of the best places in the country.
Arenal
Arenal, one of Costa Rica many volcanoes erupting still from time to time. If you are lucky, you will be able to lava flows of the volcano to look down. (Do not worry! The lava swells-not only huge explosions. It is completely safe to visit.) The area also has a large waterfall (La Fortuna), a National Park with great hiking, overlooking the sunset over the lake, outdoor activities , and famous hot springs. With so much to do, it is no wonder it is one of the most visited places in the country

a day trip from San Jose, Poas Volcano is a dormant volcano with two calderas filled with sulfur lakes. The lakes are so still, you will see on your screen and think that you painted the color. There are some small paths around the area. Come early in the morning in and ruin to avoid the clouds closing the view.
Saint Theresa
At the lower end of the Nicoya coast hippie backpack city Santa's There's a. This "city" is really nothing more than a beach lined with a street with restaurants, yoga centers, surf shops and hostels. Everyone stands to beat early on the waves, so that the whole atmosphere in the city is quite relaxed. You will not find many crazy parties can be found here. Santa Theresa is a good place to lie on the beach, to chat with the people, and to relax. Because of the "chill" atmosphere, many people end up staying for weeks in Santa Theresa and even months on end.
