New Zealand backpacker buses -

Traveling New Zealand via backpacker bus
get One of the greatest ways travelers in New Zealand is backpacker bus. These buses offer a hop-on / hop-off service, the travelers the flexibility at their own pace with the convenience of travel and activities that can go organized for them. New Zealand has three major hop-on / hop-off buses: Magic Bus is the experience Kiwi and scattered. I tried the Kiwi Experience and scattered.

The Kiwi Experience
The kiwi experience New Zealand
The Kiwi Experience is the largest and most popular backpacker bus in New Zealand. The bus attracts a young gap-year travelers. Nine times out of ten, I was the oldest travelers on the bus. I would say it is about 50% 18-22 year olds, 40% 23-27 year olds and 10% + 27

What I liked .: The Kiwi Experience comes from their ensure manner that every socialized make and get to know each other. Drivers play a lot of games and icebreakers, and there is dinner for groups in most of the hostels. Most of the group ends stick together, it's an easy way to find traveling partners. You also get the Kiwi Experience discounts on most attractions, activities and hostels

Does not I like :. size. The buses seat around 55 people, and when they are full, they get a little cliquey. form small groups, and at the end it feels like a Contiki tour. I had more fun when the bus was less crowded and you could know the people better. During high season the bus is quite always full. Also, I did not make so many little side stops the bus. While it is sometimes nice something else to see from the ninth or tenth stop in order, most people are just like, "Can we come to the goal already?"

Who for his : If you are 25 or younger, or just looking for a party, this bus for you. It is mostly filled with young people who want to have a good time. Of all the buses I took, I saw only a pair furthest formed on the bus. Besides, if you're not looking to climb the beaten path and just want to see only the highlights of New Zealand, this bus is for you. They will fall off on all main destinations.

spreading is new and its goal is to "take off the beaten track." While they all have the same major destinations The Kiwi Experience does hit them on a couple of different, take also. I was really happy that they take the right in Abel Tasman National Park for two days instead of just in Nelson you fall off

What I liked :. Scattering has smaller buses, a provision of intimate atmosphere and makes it easier to meet people. While there are many gap-year travelers on the bus, scattering trying to bring more older independent travelers. On my bus, I saw a lot more couples and people generally less interested drunk every night. They went out, but it was not the only thing they were interested. seems to have scattered a better balance as The Kiwi experience when it comes to that.

What I did not know how : the bus driver I did not play as many games or so many icebreakers, it is a little awkward if you first step on the bus alone and not to make an extrovert. Moreover, compared to the Kiwi Experience, the buses were not as comfortable

Who is it for :. scattering, unlike Kiwi, goes both ways. You can definitely a party bus full gap year to find children, but unlike Kiwi, you are more likely to find Travelers interested in anything other than to look at the bar. If you are not really looking to want to spend time with mature travelers a lot to celebrate, or is scattered for you.

Overall, I liked the Kiwi Experience better. But then again, I tend to enjoy a livelier atmosphere when I travel. I spend much time online work to do, so I'm ready to cut loose at nightfall usually. The Kiwi Experience is definitely the place to do that. I thought scattering done a great job, and I would recommend it to people who do one of these buses without surrounded by young travelers.

But no matter which bus you decide not buy your ticket before you get to New Zealand! you will get better deals and discounts if you buy your ticket from a hostel or travel agency within the country. Many of the people I traveled with learned this lesson the hard way.
