The Jatiluwih rice terraces
Most tourists in Bali always seem to go only to Kuta Beach. I have been amazed at the crowds of Kuta and just amazed at how few masses been there elsewhere. With so many great places in Bali to see, one would expect some people from Kuta venture. Few do, which means that you can explore the rest of the island in peace. An underappreciated place you should visit is the Jatiluwih rice terraces.
One of the top ten things in Bali and front and center these rice terraces can be found in any travel guide stunning. They give new meaning to the word green. They crawl the sides of hills like steps leads you to the sky. And like so much of Bali, the terraces are as empty as well. Apart from a few people from the surrounding resorts, you will not see anyone here. Plus, there are even fewer people through the rice fields on foot. It's just you and nature.
are the Jatiluwih rice terraces in the center of Bali near Ganung Batukaru. The area is very rural with nothing but farming communities and a few high-end mountain resorts (US $ 100 or more per night). It is rural Bali at its best. There are no tours, no tourist buses, not even a regular public bus. To get here, hire a driver, go here or even stay in one of the nearby resorts.
And the inaccessibility is what keeps away the masses. Most people leave the Kuta end in Ubud or the Gili Islands-places that are easy to get with nice, cheap tourist buses and boats. Jatiluwih is much more difficult to achieve and requires effort to explore, so can these beautiful rice terraces without hordes of people pushing you or ruin the landscape.
The terraces stretch to see a large area. A day trip here will give you a good feel for it, but you really explore, I recommend a two-day trip, although it depends on how much hiking through rice terraces you like! (I'm a huge fan). They will explore get different parts of terraces, jump over rivers and even sit at a nice lunch in the terraces. I have to just wander around for a few hours, but I dream to come back more to wander. In addition, there are beautiful mountains in the area to explore small villages, and to eat good restaurants.
The area could not easy to get, but if you really want to see Bali as it is outside of the tourist areas, make the effort to spend a few days here. You can find some cheap guesthouses in the villages and find real, everyday explore get, tout free Bali.
