A vacation from my vacation -

I would not be nomadic, if I did not move much. For example, I am currently in Mexico on a short vacation with some other travel bloggers. Yes, a holiday.

people think full-time travel is a vacation in itself. But it is not. It's actually a lot of work, especially when you throw in running a blog. I'm always busy.

Ironically, for me a holiday is usually just the opposite of what it is for most people. Instead of going away, I go home, eat at my favorite restaurants, watch TV and sleep all the time about the work I catch do while traveling.

I have not been able to digest this trip home. It was a bit of a whirlwind tour. I stayed for two days in NYC the details of my book a lot of work out, pass a friend from Australia by Boston, there is a great night with high school friends was, and now I'm in Mexico. I fly at 12 to Europe for the Oktoberfest back.

My peaceful "vacation" turned out to do more than the last few weeks on the road!

But it was good not to have to "travel." It is in one place, good nature that I know where things are, where to eat, and what to do. I can relax a little. I do not go out and tour. I'm not in a hostel dorm room. No one is asking me the typical travel questions.

The only time my camera came out himself, was when I played tour guide to my Australian friend who was in town and wanted to see historic Boston. We have the Freedom Trail, ate some delicious food and went to enjoy the nightlife.

often do not play We travelers tourists in our own cities. In fact, the last time I researched Boston 08. But I really loved it. I took my boyfriend on a guided tour of the Freedom Trail and learned so much about my city. I should so often more!

As travelers, as we go about the world and learn "outside". But we often forget to make advantage of what is right in front of us in our home towns or states or countries. We have great opportunities to learn about the history, where we are from, as long as we are willing tourists to play both abroad and at home

to take away. When you are sad you can not travel right now, go a tourist in your own city be. I bet you will see and learn a lot.

I was hoping to get to be able to route to the future, to write on my book and a couple of blog posts, while I was at home, but that did not happen at all. I'm another "holiday" soon have somewhere.

If I'm back in Europe on September 13, I'll Germany touring and in lederhosen for Oktoberfest dressing up. I am there for five very beer fueled days before exploring from Central Europe and Japan before returning to one of my favorite places on earth. Thailand

Until Thailand, it will be non-stop. But I've recharged the batteries travel over the past 10 days, and I am again ready to explore the world.
