The casinos of Las Vegas Strip
Updated: August 2013 [turn
I love gambling. It's my one vice principal. To avoid losing my shirt, house, and everything in between, I always Las Vegas avoided because it is like a playground for adults seems that I would enjoy too much . ButHowever, last year, I finally bit the bullet and went, because the conference was held BlogWorld there. I thought to myself, would hold a lot of meetings and networking events myself from gambling. They did not, but that's another story. While I was there, I realized that Vegas is awesome , and I could not believe I'd spent 29 years the city to avoid.
Last month I had decided a few days before my trip to the Galapagos Islands and to go back to Las Vegas. It was the perfect place for a few days to spend. I do not make friends parties or wild bachelor participate. I went for the simple pleasure and discovered that only go to Vegas is not so bad.
I was worried I would my hotel at the end of the casino a lot. I ended up not only in my hotel casino, but I also spent time in any other casino on the Strip. I decided to be on my own and see all the casinos then I embrace in Vegas could. I was on a mission to the Vegas Strip to check! Here are the places my ever-growing list:
The Luxor - This place is a hole. I stayed here during BlogWorld The rooms really need upgrading in November 2010.. The wallpaper was peeling, crappy my bed uncomfortable, the service, and internet service slow. The casino is quite large and the minimum bets adequate but while there are a few good restaurants in the hotel, I would never stay there again. Or even go back and visit. It is also considering at the south end of the Strip, it is a bit far away from everything and not worth the walk
Caesars Palace -. I expected more from this place. (It is pager friendly but!) Maybe because when I used to play Nintendo, had Las Vegas game to them Caesar's logo, I always pictured this place would so noble and high-end. I think what you see in video games, is not always true! Nevertheless, Caesars Palace was good not amazing, but pretty good. The pool is phenomenal. It's huge, decorative and fun. The casino is quite large, and you can tell that there is a strong emphasis here is on gaming. It has lower stakes makes playing on a budget than other nearby casinos, a better place. Caesar also has some of the best big names in Las Vegas shows, making it one of the best places to catch a show on the Strip. I would stay here if I was on a budget
The Bellagio -. A classy, classy joint. In fact, it might be a bit too classy for me. You pianists, chic restaurants, the most famous poker room in Las Vegas, a huge and opulent casino (high minimums, especially on weekends) and a very high-end shopping area (think Fendi and Gucci). The buffet at Bellagio is one of the better buffets on the Strip, Yellowtail is a phenomenal sushi restaurant, and there is a candy store with a chocolate fountain. I like the Bellagio and the fountain show is as ingenious as Ocean's 11 managed to be. It happens every 15 minutes. Make sure you get there early, as a crowd 7 minutes builds before each show. Even if you do not stay here, Bellagio is one of the better casinos in time spend
Mandalay Bay -. I like this place very much. They have a large pool and a lazy river where you can just sit, swim and relax. The entire pool area is very large and is a great highlight of any stay there. They also have a huge casino with a big stick, very pleasant decor and reasonable minimum bets. There are a wide variety of delicious restaurants, including an excellent wine bar and sushi restaurant. The staff is fun and the audience is very versatile. I also have the room much. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms clean. If Bellagio 5 stars, are Mandalay Bay Room 3.5. It is a place I would stay here again
MGM Grand -. This place seemed more family oriented than the other places I visited. I can not say much about the room (I did not see them), but I have the bars to enjoy, and the casino a lot of had table games. MGM has also much more shows, events and concerts as many of the other casinos on the Strip
Hard Rock -. I was not a fan. Except for the fact that it has Nobu (some of my favorite sushi), I could not anything I liked about it, see. It is small, there are a lot of drunk young people around, and it is away from the Strip. They have a great pool party on Sunday as "Rehab", but its overall focus is always drunk. It's like going during the day in a club. If you're in Vegas for a drunken weekend or Bachelor / Bachelorette Party, Hard Rock might be perfect for you. Otherwise, I would stay away
The Palms- The place to be: .. And trendy with a huge pool area, famous clubs, and a large casino
Monte Carlo - I was not impressed with his mediocre restaurants and shopping. It seemed like it years ago its heyday. Your casino is large, but their buffet is just average. It is cheaper than most other buffets and the selection is great, but the food is nothing special. While an average resort, it is very affordable. You can get rooms for around $ 70 USD per night, which is available for the Strip. Heck, there is a mall-style food court on the lower floor (complete with Manchu Wok and McDonalds!). They have many board games (albeit a small poker room). It's not my favorite, but it's one of the better budget options
New York, New York -. I like New York, New York. It's crowded and noisy, like New York, and it has a beautiful interior, which is designed to look like the Big Apple. The casino is a bit small, but there are many in New York themed restaurants and bars. On weekends, this place is packed with people eating cheap food and drink at the cheap bars. During the night time, you will hear screaming people when she's famous NY, NY roller coaster take to the casino. New York, New York also has my favorite Cirque du Soleil show Zumanity, a two-hour burlesque and dance show with a lot of interaction with the audience. This is a great place to stay, especially on weekends when the eclectic crowds fill the square
The Flamingo -. I hate this place. There is a hole. The room, which had just been renovated to look like a bad 1970 Club. I feel like in a bad 70s time warp am. The restaurants are not good here. The pool is popular with people who just want to get drunk, so if you want to relax by the pool, do not come here. The Flamingo is the ideal place for people who want to drink to stay with other people for a wild, drunken weekend a cheap place. Prices can be as low as $ 40 USD. But all in all, they nickel-and-dime on Services (no WiFi or gym), and it is dated. Cheap drinks and wild crowds, but I'd rather be at places like Monte Carlo or New York, New York stay looking better and more beautiful Budget casinos.
Aria - I love everything about Aria. I love the high-tech rooms, pool area, outdoor club, delicious restaurants (my top recommendations are lemongrass, American Fish and Sirio) and the entire modern look and feel. But my favorite thing? The smell. The whole place is vanilla scent. It is by far the best smelling place on the Strip. The pool here is quite large and liquid, which 21+ pool area is fun if you "drink party day" for the Vegas experience.
The ultra-modern and tech-savvy room has me looking for a way. They had USB ports and sockets throughout the room, and I could control everything from my TV. It was like I was in Bill Gates' house, worked out everything and nothing turned into a blue screen. And the beds? As sleeping on air. I had a few friends with me, and they never wanted to leave her room bed.
On weekends, Haze, Aria Nightclub, is full of people, and the resort takes a lot of festive atmosphere.
The Venetian - Another expensive and high-end casino, the old-school casino is both opulent and beautiful. The rooms here are all suites with large bathrooms, sofas, TV and a huge bed. There is a large shopping mall, gondola rides around the "channels" and amazing delicious, high-end restaurants that serve some of the best food in Vegas. The famous nightclub Tao can also be found here.
I love The Venetian. It is wonderful. It has a large casino, a poker room full of bad players, phenomenal food and great shopping. It is opulent. You can not really hate The Venetian. It would be like hating art. But you can see the prices-hate is definitely not to remain the cheapest place on the Strip. The only cheap thing in the Venetian is the buffet. That being said, even if I do not live here I come to eat and play poker here usually. (I used a lot to go to Tao, and while it is a fun, loud and packed club, my clubbing days are over now!)
The Palazzo - coupled seat next to and the Venetian's Palazzo. The Palazzo has similar rooms (they are all suites), a relaxing pool area 21+ called Azure, a large play area (I seem much to gain there), and a number of restaurants. I spent one night in the Palazzo and visited her often pool. I really like the inner atrium leads to the check-in counter. There are a lot of marble, and it makes you feel really are as in classical Italy. (There is also a pretty and soothing waterfall on the walk to the Venetian.) This location is also a much cheaper option than The Venetian
The Cosmopolitan -. As Arie, a modern and trendy Casino. This place has more of an emphasis on dining, nightlife and shopping than on gaming. (It is a very small casino floor). I like Cosmo, as it has some of the best restaurants on the strip, which is no surprise, since their commitment to gastronomy. You have a chandelier bar that goes down three floors and free pool tables on the restaurant floor. Each level of the Chandelier Bar has a signature specialty drink. I like Bond also on the ground floor-John, the bartender, is one of the best beverage mixer in Vegas. Make sure you also try the-year itch 12, a rum drink brewed especially for the Cosmopolitan. the people pushing On weekends the place, as it is home to the famous Marquee nightclub. It is one of those "see" in Vegas locations. For good food and drinks, Cosmopolitan is on the Strip to visit one of my top places. I never visit Vegas without coming here
Paris -. I love Paris. You have one of the best buffets on the Strip, the casino is great, and you are very good French restaurants can be found here. My favorite aspect of Paris (next to the huge buffet) is the Club here. I do not like clubbing, but the top level of the Paris Club is open air and just below its replica of the Eiffel Tower. It offers impressive views of the Las Vegas Strip, which is nice when it is lit up at night
Planet Hollywood -. Pretty much the same as Paris. I really need this place more to explore, but from what I saw it as an OK place
Excalibur seemed - This place is past its prime. Everything is rundown, smelly the place of cigarettes, and the hotel smells only of sadness. The buffet is disgusting. The rooms are not so bad, just worn. The only good thing about this hotel is that the rooms are very cheap. That is the only reason to stay here.
I still do not, that had the wild Vegas vacation, but you know what, there's a lot you can do in Vegas, without going crazy. Someday I'll get my Vegas vacation, but also alone, to love just walking around, I grew Vegas even more. I'll be back here
Editor's note :. Aria and Palazzo gave me free accommodation, a free dinner and a free buffet pass. I'll be updating this list when I return to Las Vegas and back to some of these hotels. I can change my mind about it. You never know. Nothing is absolute.
