The four things that I hate Europe

The four things that I hate Europe -

Lovers on the ground in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris I love Europe. I really do. So much so that when I stop his Nomadic Matt, I want to move to Paris (Update: I ended up a bit in Stockholm and Amsterdam upwards). I love the café culture, the wine, the free health care, the liberal attitude towards life, as so many different cultures are just a short flight away-it's wonderful. But having visited Europe every summer for the past couple of years, I have found that it. Many things about Europe that get really on my nerves to spend so much time, it makes me realize that life in America is not so bad, and in many ways we have it easy.

For me, Europe would be perfect if it (was big) not for these four things:

convenience - live in Southeast Asia and New York City spoiled me really. In these places, you can do anything or go get anywhere 24/7. Nothing is ever really closed. It makes life really easy. You need food at 4:00? No problem. Must get tape at 2am? Easy! But even if I in the suburbs to visit my parents, opening times are much better than in Europe. In Europe, little is Sunday and most shops close at 6 or 7:00 during the week. If you are working to 17.00, how do you get to do something? I do not need 24/7 opening times, but in too many places in Europe, it seems, everything is always closed. (And I especially hate how most museums are closed on Mondays.)

Service - Whenever my European friends about visiting America style, they always talk about the service. You can not believe how friendly may be the staff, how useful they are, and how they, asking if keep everything in order. Everyone is so useful, as they say. You can not believe almost. In Europe, most service staff are rude. They are not sympathetic, and they could not care less if you need another glass of water, want to control, or if your room sucks. You do not really go the extra mile. In the US, the people on tips and that an incentive for people to give a better service (although they should pay a higher base rate!). In Europe, they do not have that incentive they paid the same amount whether they serve 10 tables or

Politeness -. This brings me to my next point. People are not happy-go-lucky in Europe as they are in America. Yes, Europeans are friendly (I'm here to say, filled with rude people the whole continent), but they are certainly not as lively. My European friends always wonder why the American people ask: "How are you?", Because they people do not mean thinking. "Why would you care?" She questions. I think we do. Sure, "How are you?", Is a standard greeting, but there are some sincerity behind it. They do not react with a 15-minute tirade about the day, but that does not mean people are not interested really. Americans are known for their optimism and positive attitude, and I always miss. My English friend Sarah says we Americans are always so damn chipper and optimistic. I think that's great! There is a better outlook on life have

Comfort Food -. Europe amazing food. There is no doubt about it. I'm not a pastry guy, but the streets of Paris on foot could eventually make me fat. I can not help but duck into shops and snack throughout the day. When I am in Spain, I think I eat about three pigs worth Iberian ham. About 0% of food in Europe is rocking my world. That said, I would kill for some good sushi, a BLT, Taco Bell, Vietnamese food, good Mexican, a good steak, some Cheez-Its, peanut butter cups or a sub (a kind of sandwich). America has to choose a much better variety of foods, and much more junk food. I know you are not eating the same food you eat at home, but I find it difficult, long-term, because of the lack of food diversity in Europe to be.

No place is perfect, and no matter what, I love Europe. I always come back every year for a reason. But if I go for months there, I think certain aspects of missing home. It's only natural. But they say traveling gives you a new appreciation for the home, and when I travel to Europe, I appreciate the little things in America that we often take for granted and assume standards are all over the world.
