The Mayan ruins of Tulum
While I was last week in Mexico, I had the chance to visit Tulum. Tulum is an ancient Mayan city located on the beach. In fact, a popular thing to do here after a sweat from running around working up is to go swimming in the sea. There is nothing in the shade of some ruins swim, right?
Tulum was a flourishing capital and commercial city until the Spaniards came and destroyed it in 1518. It was then left town and abandoned in the jungle. Well, it is one of the most popular and largest Mayan ruins in Mexico. It is incredibly beautiful, especially given its location near the sea. This is one of those places where my words could never do justice, so I'll take my pictures speak for me blank:
The Observatory
The Observatory and a beautiful backdrop
The Cenote House
El Castillo
The beach where everyone goes swimming
Imagine as your view , The Mayans had great hotel on the beach!
A sanctuary for nesting
