What would you do if you had in a city 24 hours? There is not much time. You can not know the city-all you can do is take a peek. Twenty-four hours is just a quick skim, and for this reason I hate in a city just to spend a day. I never go away feeling like I really know to the place. But I suddenly found myself with only 24 hours in Dublin and had to stuff a thousand year old city on a day of travel. How do you spend a day in Dublin? Here's how:

8.00 - Wake Up / shower / breakfast

9.00 - Dublin Castle

09.30 -. St. Patrick's Cathedral
Saint Patrick's Cathedral in Ireland
named after the patron saint of Ireland, this cathedral is quite impressive. The present buildings date from 1191 and the famous Marsh Library is the oldest in Ireland. It is also one of the few things open before 10am

Here you can learn all about the history of Guinness, Ireland learn famous beer. The factory was bought here in 1759 and has a 000 years lease. It produces about three million pints of Guinness a day. At the end of the tour you can visit the Gravity Bar header for a free pint. The site also provides excellent 360 ° views of the city. Avoid weekend afternoons standing here as the place only space. Walking takes by about an hour and a half

An inside look at the Old Kilmainham Gaol (jail) with a winding staircase
This prison was used as a prison until 1910. It was after the 1916 Easter Rising and temporarily used during the Revolutionary War for detention and summary executions. Often there were about eight people to a tiny cell. In 1960 it was restored and opened as a museum in the 190s. It has a large exhibition to importing. In addition, your ticket will get you a tour that lasts an hour and begins on the hour.

Lunch
take in lunch in the high street area
I really enjoyed the area around Mary / High Street. It is far away from the Gaol, so you have to take the bus, but it is very close to the next attraction. The area is also very close to the Dublin Spire and is a large pedestrian area with many restaurants. On weekends there are some outdoor food markets

02.00 -. Dublin Writers Museum
The entrance to the Dublin Writers Museum, which highlights many good Irish writers
Dublin has a rich literary history of James Joyce to Beckett, Oscar Wilde and a million authors in between. The museum does a great job to show them all in detail to you and has a very thorough audio guide. But if you have a literary buff, you do not need more than 30 minutes here spend

3:00 -. Trinity College / Book of Kells
Trinity College in Dublin
Take a tour of Ireland's most famous college and see the ninth century Book of Kells, an embroidered Latin version of the Bible. The tour lasts 30 minutes and offers some funny comment. Then you can head in the library to see the Book of Kells

4:00 -. National History Museum
The Dublin National History Museum from the outside
Finish your day by all learn here about the history of Ireland from the Vikings to the English rule, Michael Collins, the IRA, and independence. The museum is pretty comprehensive, and it is also free.

dinner and drinks at Temple Bar

Temple Bar Ireland is the big festive place to party
Sure, it's touristy, but it's pretty good "craick" as the Irish would say. You can get away from the main tourist fare and head to the Porter House, a local brewery, which makes an excellent Stout and great Irish food. but no matter where you go, run by all day, you still need a drink definitely, and some savory.

If you have limited time to do in Dublin, I propose that the hop-on / hop-off tour bus. It will cut down drastically and allow you to squeeze your walking time in the day. Plus, you get very lively commentary from the drivers and your passport to receive discounts at most major attractions.

The next time I will get to Dublin, though, you can bet on more than 24 hours
