Trying to fish in Taupo

Trying to fish in Taupo -

Fishing on a beautiful day in Lake Taupo, New Zealand I once fished in my life only. It was during a prolonged stay on the island of Ko Lipe. A few of us hired had to explore the nearby National Park and the islands of a boat. For lunch, our captain Thai fish went out to catch. I was one of the few who went with him, each of us a chance to catch some welcome

Fishing in Thailand is the old-fashioned way happen: a hook at one thrown into the water line connected.. Very easy. Our lunch bit while I held the line. I had a nice lunch for all captured, but succeeded in the process, cut my finger open in slices. A bittersweet victory.

Trout Fishing in Taupo, I had a very different experience. Instead line fishing in an open long boat, we went with a modern sonar equipped boat fishing, a grumpy but hilarious captain and very high-tech fishing rods. It was a completely different world.

Starting in the lake after lunch we went in search of trout. We were a venerable UN fishermen hailing from around the world are looking to kill an afternoon and some fish. Our hunting do not go too well, but. In fact, they do not go. After our captain some high-tech equipment and weights used to the lines 0 meters to drop below the surface, we crossed waiting for our first bite to each of us a line to use picking. Then we waited longer. And longer. Finally boring and grab a couple of beers, we went on the upper deck and took in the view.

Lake Taupo on a dreary day in New Zealand And what was a view. Taupo is my favorite place in New Zealand. The area is absolutely stunning. The city is located on the largest lake in the country, and from here you can Ngauruhoe (Mount Doom of The Lord of the Rings ) and Mount Tongariro (the site of the largest single-day hike seen in the country ). Nearby you have hot springs and the amazing Huka Falls, where the water is extremely blue and it is looking like an iceberg. I loved Taupo and sit loved still on the lake cruising around, take in the sun, watching the other boats, and admire in the distance the mountains.

We have the boat had rented two hours and as time went on, the less it seemed like we would catch something. Our captain was more still aggravated, cursing about how he'll be back hated empty. He tried to placate us with a couple of beers, and how we scold him heard about the local culture, we saw it: a train on one of the lines. Then another train. We had two fish.

And one of these fish was mine. It was time to catch the second fish in my life. Besides, I had no idea what to do. I had never used a role.

"How can I reel it?" I asked.

"There are no stupid questions!" Exclaimed the captain. "You have it roll up through the wheel turning!" He said angrily to the rod shows.

So as I reeled in my trout. It has put not much of a defense, and soon I had. My friend reeled in his fish, and soon we had an enormous feast. Ride back to the harbor, our captain was all smiles and happy that we had caught something, even if they were there not the biggest trout. It was an exciting day on the lake, the sun was shining and the air was fresh. Despite the surliness of our captain, he was funny and made good conversation. I wish I could remember his name so I could recommend it to you.

Yes, I loved Taupo.
